General Summary

Odessa College Park Attendants are responsible for supporting the safety, cleanliness, and efficient operation of Odessa College’s Downtown Park. They play a key role in creating a safe and positive experience for all visitors by helping maintain the park’s overall appearance. Attendants are scheduled to work four 4-hour shifts each week, in addition to special events as needed.

Odessa College Downtown operates from 12 PM to 8 PM, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hours during the fall and winter seasons may vary based on holidays, special events, and weather conditions.

Specific Position Duties

• Regularly inspect and maintain the Odessa College Downtown facilities to ensure they are clean, safe, and in good working condition. Tasks may include trash collection, cleaning restrooms, checking equipment for hazards, and reporting maintenance issues
• Act as a friendly and approachable point of contact for Odessa College Downtown visitors. Provide assistance and information regarding rules and regulations
• Monitor Odessa College Downtown activities and enforce rules to ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors. Recognize potential safety hazards and report incidents to physical plant or Odessa College Police Department as necessary
• Assist with organizing and facilitating Odessa College Downtown events and activities. This may involve setting up equipment, coordinating with vendors, helping with event logistics, etc.
• Work closely with Odessa College Police Department to monitor and deter illegal or disruptive activities
• Provide excellent customer service to Odessa College Downtown visitors
• Ensure that any park equipment, including games, splash pad, picnic tables, and trash receptacles, are well-maintained and functional
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Ability to perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, bending and walking for extended periods
• Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and holidays
• Carry out other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is desirable.
