Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Manager

The HSE Manager is primarily responsible for developing and implementing the company’s strategic health, safety, and environmental program in partnership with leadership and business line management. This role reduces incidents, mitigates risk, and supports overall business goals while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations across all Axis locations.
Responsibilities- Develop programs to reduce incidents, identify HSE risks, and ensure risk‑management plans are effectively communicated and implemented.
- Provide HSE training to all new hires and current employees regularly and annually as required by DOL regulations and customer requirements.
- Act as technical advisor to leadership, operations management, and other functional groups to facilitate continual HSE improvements.
- Participate in incident reporting, investigation, root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective measures to resolution.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of HSE Representatives and administration to ensure compliance with government regulations and Axis policies.
- Support and enforce Axis policies to ensure practical, cost‑effective risk mitigation measures are in place within the workplace.
- Create and foster a safety culture where employees are accountable for health, safety, and environmental conditions.
- Develop and implement safety standard operating procedures based on regulatory requirements and client expectations.
- Support operations with an effective communication and reporting program for safety alerts, incident reviews, and data trends.
- Provide HSE coaching and mentoring for site personnel, operations leadership, and the HSE group.
- Participate in project planning and change‑management activities to identify HSE issues, analyze trends, and eliminate risks.
- Manage the HSE budget and provide input for requirements.
- Lead special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8–10+ years of demonstrated HSE work experience, preferably in oil field services.
- CSP, SMS, ASP, or OSHA training; PEC/Safeland training certifications are a plus.
- Experience with ISNetworld or other contractor safety management systems; learning management systems (LMS) and safety reporting programs such as KPA.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and attentive listening.
- Professional integrity, confidentiality, and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Highly organized and efficient, skilled at multi‑tasking.
- Good judgment and the ability to make timely, sound decisions.
- Willingness to travel frequently as job and customer requirements demand.
