READ THIS FIRST This is a different job. Most strong restaurant managers should not apply for this role — and that is no knock on them. Running a great shift, kitchen, or department is hard, valuable work. This role is something else.
Our General Manager leads four Directors, who lead Assistant Directors, who lead the teams serving thousands of guests every week. You will rarely be the one fixing the problem in front of you. You will be the one who built the people and systems that fix it — and you will be measured on whether they do.
If you have done that before, at scale, we want to talk. If you are hoping to learn it here, this is not the right seat yet.
HOW WE’RE ORGANIZEDThe General Manager and the Chief of Staff are peers. Both report directly to the Operator.
- General Manager: Restaurant operations — Front of House, Kitchen, Hospitality, and Facilities & Maintenance.
- Chief of Staff: Administration and strategy — Finance, Human Resources, and Sales & Brand Growth.
The two partner daily and hold the restaurant to one standard.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN Operational Performance- Own results in speed of service, order accuracy, food safety, cleanliness, and guest experience across every daypart.
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Chick-fil-A brand standards — and set a standard above them.
- Lead four Directors and, through them, their Assistant Directors and teams.
- Build an operating rhythm — meetings, metrics, follow-up — that runs without you in the room.
- Coach Directors to own their departments, solve problems at their level, and escal il only what matters.
- Develop leaders: at least one Director ready for a larger role within 12 months.
- Turn customer experience data into action plans that Directors execute and you verify.
- Build a hospitality culture that earns every guest’s return.
- Own labor productivity and food cost for your departments.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff and Financial Director on budget and forecast; make decisions with the P&L in view.
- Lead by our values:
Care, Serve, Grow, Own, and Amplify — and protect the culture under pressure. - Partner with the Chief of Staff on hiring, sales plans, and community outreach.
- First 90 days: Learn every department, establish your operating rhythm, and deliver a written assessment and plan to the Operator.
- First year: Directors running their departments without escalation; measurable gains in guest experience, speed, food cost, and labor; a bench of developed leaders.
Read this list carefully. Every applicant is held to it, and every claim is verified with references.
Required- 5+ years leading managers who led their own teams. Leading a single shift, kitchen, or department — however well — does not meet this requirement.
- Ownership of results for an entire operation or several departments at once: a P&L of $5M+ or a team of 75+.
- Leaders you developed who were promoted. You can name them, and they will take our call.
- Systems you built that kept running when you were not in the building.
- High integrity and discretion.
- Availability: mornings, days, evenings, and Saturdays, plus occasional travel for training. Fluent English.
- High-volume restaurant or QSR experience; multi-unit, hospitality, retail, or military leadership also considered.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Spanish.
- Your leadership experience is mainly running shifts or a single department.
- You lead best by doing the work yourself.
- You want the title more than the…
