Base pay range

$34.00/hr - $34.00/hr

Compensation
  • $3500 sign on bonus for selected qualified candidates with a current DHS ICE or CBP Clearance!

Responsibilities
  • Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required by the contract.
  • Exercises surveillance and control over detainees and maintains order and discipline.
  • Make official entries in the processing logbooks that are legible and complete.
  • Conduct a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer.
  • Inventory all equipment and notate the results in the logbook.
  • Receive all authorized equipment and ensure that it is in proper working condition.
  • Carry one of the authorized intermediate weapons and use them in accordance with policy.
  • Ensure that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for authorized equipment including but not limited to equipment such as firearms and related gear.
  • Qualify with a company issued semi-automatic pistol with appropriate duty belt and magazines.
  • Complete all training, including defensive tactics and courses requiring a minimum physical stamina.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with organization policies and procedures and safety practices.
  • Guard and safeguard non-citizen detainees and the general public at government buildings in custodial or court settings.
  • Qualify on a standard course of fire twice yearly and up to four times annually if required.
  • Maintain fitness and comply with contract requirements throughout the contract lifespan.
Qualifications
  • US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
  • Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
  • Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
  • Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid state drivers license or CDL.
  • Possess a valid firearm license from the state of Texas.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an armed state security guard license.
  • Preferred one year of Military, Security, Law Enforcement, or Corrections experience with abilities to interact professionally with the public and follow written and verbal orders.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain poise during emergencies, and safeguard confidential information.
  • Maintain current physical residency in the continental United States and meet physical fitness standards for law enforcement and CDL requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Prepare and write incident narratives and reports concisely and accurately.
  • Meet medical and physical testing requirements and standards.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion in first response to situations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in securing and controlling detainees by following training, policy, and procedure.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards and proficiency with firearms and other equipment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Possess integrity and accountability and adhere to DHS ICE National Detention Standards.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population with cross-cultural awareness.
