Advanced Service Technician; Rental Equipment

As an Advanced Service Technician focused on rental equipment , you will take the lead in inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of machinery in our rental fleet. From compact excavators to aerial lifts and light towers, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring all rental units are safe, functional, and rental-ready. This role requires deep mechanical knowledge across various brands and equipment types and the ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of rental fleet equipment.
• Service diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical assemblies.
• Conduct pre-rental inspections and ensure all machines meet safety and performance standards.
• Complete detailed work orders with notes, photos, and inspection documentation.
• Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your workspace and tools.
• Communicate with service writers and rental coordinators on repair timelines and machine status.
• Perform repairs within flat rate or billed labor guidelines.
• Keep current with technical service bulletins and manufacturer updates.

• Must provide your own hand tools.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical service (rental industry preferred).
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Good eyesight (correctable to 20/20) and hearing required for diagnostics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, multimeters, and hydraulic testing tools.
• In-depth knowledge of construction and industrial equipment systems.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or on a team.
• Deliver consistent, high-quality work on a diverse range of rental equipment. Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
• Exhibit professionalism with coworkers and customers.
• Keep an efficient, organized, and clean work area.
• Stay proactive in expanding technical knowledge and certifications.

• GMG, Genie, JCB, Snorkel, Xtreme: Scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, forklifts
• Allmand: Light towers, generators
• ELGi: Air compressors
• Land Pride: Box blades, augers, tillers, and attachments
• Other Rental Equipment:
  • Concrete saws, plate compactors, rammers, breakers, utility trailers, dump trailers, mini skid, stump grinders.
