Summary

This position ensures that only the intended goods get delivered to and shipped out of the warehouse. This includes performing all activities with regard to incoming and outgoing shipments, preparation of all shipping documents and bills of lading, parts distribution as needed to fill customer orders in process or internal department orders, verifying quantities and cost of items received against packing slips, purchase orders and the like as well as performing receiving and withdrawal of parts in the business system.

This person is also responsible for cleaning, organizing and maintaining the warehouse.

Responsibilities
  • Receive company manufactured parts, incoming parts from local vendors and un-package incoming freight.
  • Tag and distribute items received to open orders or stock.
  • Verify quantity and price against packing slip or purchase order.
  • Perform receiving transactions in business system.
  • Document incoming freight charges on orders for billing, if applicable.
  • Recycle all cardboard, packing material, etc.
  • Confirm items to be shipped for accuracy against order, tag with part number and description, and print required paperwork.
  • Prepare orders for shipping or placement on outgoing shelves on the Salesman’s designated areas.
  • Package outgoing shipments in accordance with best practices.
  • Ship parts from Transfer Orders in System.
  • Prepare shipping documents, labels, packing slips, and freight bills or BOL’s as needed.
  • Document outgoing freight charges on orders for billing, if applicable.
  • Stamp received packing slips, scan and save to appropriate vendor files.
  • File all shipping records, freight bills, etc.
  • Turn in completed order paperwork to the front office for billing.
  • Update order line status with sent to billing dates.
  • Participate in company Lean 5S initiatives.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Make pick‑up and deliveries when needed.
  • Perform daily cycle counts.
  • Assist with physical inventory pre‑counts.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory.
  • Must be willing to accept and perform work assignments not directly related to the S/R clerk position.
  • Coordinating and updating Plant 4 Buyer on daily tasks, work assignments and projects as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3‑years of experience in industrial environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Be highly motivated and a “Team” player.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Possess good organizational and communication skills.
  • General knowledge of shipping/receiving is helpful but not required.
