Overview

G2IT is seeking a Systems Administrator – Journeyman to support client-facing strategic initiatives and ensure the seamless implementation and maintenance of automated solutions. In this role, you will collaborate on large and complex programs, contribute to high-visibility or mission-critical projects, and help refine the strategic vision for G2IT’s IT Service Management operations in support of both the company and our clients.

As a Systems Administrator – Journeyman, you will perform a wide range of system administration duties independently and may oversee the work of junior team members or manage all staff assigned to specific tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and configure new software releases, perform system upgrades, evaluate and apply patches, and resolve software-related issues.
  • Perform regular system backups and recovery to ensure data protection.
  • Maintain data files and monitor system configurations to ensure integrity and performance.
  • Manage the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, validate and implement critical system patches, and allocate mass storage.
  • Assist with scheduling, planning, and overseeing system upgrades.
  • Develop functional requirements through collaboration with end users and coordinate with development teams to implement system enhancements or changes.
  • Monitor and control computer operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Assist in identifying methods and techniques for improving system operations and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum).
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (minimum).

Annual Salary $75k, depending on experience
