Front End Mechanic – Ogden, UT
Purcell Tire & Rubber Co.
To provide safe, quality automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to customer vehicles.
Essential Duties- Pull customer vehicles in and out of the shop
- Complete oil/lube services as well as maintenance lamp resets, gather specifications, and acquire appropriate repair information as needed
- Conduct proper vehicle inspections, accurately measure, record, and report findings on the repair order, and acquire specs and other info to support findings
- Perform tire replacement and repair services
- Work with and reset TPMS systems
- Replace wipers and light bulbs
- Use automotive lift equipment in a safe manner
- Clean, stock, and maintain work area
- Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas
- Perform wheel alignment service
- Embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner
- Protect company assets
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule

- Minimum Education:
High School - Minimum Job‑Specific
Experience:
1–2 years - Driver’s License
Required:
Yes - Other Job‑Specific Licenses or Certifications
Required:
Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, vendor‑provided training
- Tire & Automotive Industry – essential industry knowledge including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures; mastery of all major automotive emissions, engine management, and electrical systems
- Mechanical – knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair and maintenance
- Customer Service – knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Equipment Maintenance – performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Repairing – repairing machines or systems using the needed tools
- Troubleshooting – determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
