The HPER Climbing Wall Student Assistant aids in inspection, maintenance, instruction, and events at the climbing wall. Specific duties may include monthly and/or semi-annual inspections, maintenance as needed, hold cleaning and route setting, and assistance with special events, classes, or clinics.
Responsibilities- Conduct monthly and/or semi-annual inspections of the climbing wall.
- Perform maintenance as needed.
- Clean holds and set routes.
- Assist with special events, classes, or clinics.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications- Ability to top rope and lead belay.
- Ability to instruct basic climbing skills (bouldering and top roping).
- Ability to lead indoor sport climbs.
- Ability to climb approx. 5.9/V1.
- Ability to climb 5.10/V3 or harder.
