A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Fremont High School for a Daycare/Preschool Aide. This position is for 5.75 hours per day, 9 months per year. Interested applicants apply on  Files will be reviewed before interviews are scheduled. THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED, AFTER A MINIMUM OF 5 WORKING DAYS.

• Supervise, nurture, and care for children between the ages of 2 to 6 years old.
• Work with high school students in a hands-on environment on how to work with children.
• Provide snacks and meals, teach art activities and DAP activities, and ensure children behave well when in contact with others.
• Nurture and care for children.
• Monitor the needs and safety of children.
• Prepare afternoon snacks for the children.
• Communicate with parents at afternoon pick up.
• Organize activities that allow children to learn about the world and explore their interests.
• Develop and encourage age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, and sharing.
• Maintain a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.
• Ensure children are learning positive behaviors and provide guidance as needed.
• Keep records relating to child care.
• Provide a safe space where high schoolers can work and experience what it is like to work in a childcare/preschool setting.

Lifting, bending, reaching, squatting, pushing, pulling, etc.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Additional education and experience are preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age: 18.
• Current Food Handlers Permit.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Additional licenses: CDA certification and training are beneficial.
• Ability to make decisions, have patience, and stamina to chase after, lift, or carry children.
• Exceptional communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of stages of childhood development.
• Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children.

Job-related experience is required.

High School diploma or equivalent.
