A position has been declared open in the Weber School District for a Preschool Aide. This position is for 4.5 hours per day, 9 months per year. Interested applicants apply on Files will be reviewed before interviews are scheduled. THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED, AFTER A MINIMUM OF 5 WORKING DAYS.
Job Description:Preschool Aide
Responsible for supervising, nurturing and caring for children between the ages of 2 to 5 years old. Responsible for working/teaching with high school students in a hands-on environment on how to teach children. Welcoming children each day, providing snacks and meals, teaching lessons and activities, and ensuring children behave well when in contact with other children.
Job Responsibilities Nurture and care for children.Supervising and monitoring the safety of children.Preparing and organizing age appropriate lessons.Preparing and organizing meals and snacks for the children.Help children keep good hygiene.Organize activities that allow children to learn about the world and explore their interests.Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, sharing, etc.Maintaining a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.Ensuring children are learning positive behaviors and providing guidance or approved discipline, as needed.Keeping records relating to child care.Providing a safe space where high-schoolers can work/experience what it is like to work in a childcare/preschool setting.Daycare/Preschool Worker Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.Additional Education and experience is preferred:- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum age: 21.
- Current Food Handlers Permit.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Additional licenses: CDA, certification and training are beneficial.
Ability to make decisions, have patience and stamina to chase after, lift or carry children.Record of immunization and ability to pass a background check.Exceptional communication, teaching and interpersonal skills.Strong understanding of stages of childhood development.Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children.Experience
Job related experience is required.
Education
