A position has been declared open in the WSD for a Dog Training/Small Animals Teacher for the upcoming school year. This position is for 2.5 hours per day, 9 months per year and will be for the  school year. APPLICANTS MAY APPLY at

Responsibilities:

• Teach Dog Training / Small Animal courses and effectively lead discussions and planning instruction, activities, assignments, projects, and assessments covering the state standards for this course.
• Provide comprehensive instruction on the following concepts:

Physical Demands: This role may involve light physical activities such as standing, walking, and handling small animals during training exercises.
Attendance is an essential function of this job opportunity.

Certifications (helpful but not required):

• Relevant certifications in dog training, animal behavior, or animal care

Job Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license or relevant endorsement in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in dog training, animal behavior, or a related field
• Proficiency in teaching and curriculum development
• Strong knowledge of state standards and their application to instruction
• Familiarity with animal anatomy, physiology, training techniques, and behavior modification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students
