job description
a position has been declared open in the weber school district at midland for an elementary pe aide. This position is for 2.6 hours per day, 9 months per year. Applicants should apply on Files will be reviewed before interviews are scheduled. This position will remain open until filled, after a minimum of 5 working days.
job requirements: minimum qualifications
skills, knowledge and abilities:
the job of pe aide was established for the purpose of providing for the safety and welfare of students during non-classroom activities; minimizing the frequency or severity of harmful incidents; and communicating observations and/or incidents that may impact the general well-being of students and school personnel.
essential functions
facilitates games among students (e.g. Hands out equipment, balls, etc.) for the purpose of providing age-appropriate activities.intervenes in potential emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of activities and/or injury to involved students.monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. Rest rooms, playgrounds, cafeteria, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.reports observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. Accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.other functions
other duties as assigned.must be able to operate equipment used in playground activities and adhere to safety practices while preparing and maintaining accurate records.must have knowledge of age-appropriate activities, safety practices and procedures, and stages of child development.must be able to communicate with diverse groups, maintaining confidentiality, and working with constant interruptions.must be able to adapt to changing work priorities and work as part of a team.physical requirements
job qualifications
experience: job-related experience is desired.
education: high school diploma or equivalent.
