Job Summary / Basic Function

Tutor Computer Science classes (CS 2810 and above) to WSU students participating in SSS STEM. Tutoring is individual and by appointment. Tutors must have a grade of B+ or higher in the class being tutored. Training will be provided and is required. Tutors will work during the Fall and Spring semesters; hours will vary based on student and tutor needs.

Responsibilities

Peer Educator will be responsible for supporting the success of students by providing intentional one‑on‑one mentoring in the following areas:

  • Navigation of campus resources (financial aid, registration, wellness, etc.)
  • Connection to campus and community (transition to college, making meaningful connections, participating in campus and community programs, etc.)
  • Preparation for graduation and beyond (resumes, leadership skills, communication skills, etc.)
  • NOTE:

    This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications
  • Good communication skills
  • Grades of B+ or higher in classes needed for tutoring
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work Study eligible (if unsure, contact the Financial Aid office)
Background Check

Criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
