Req#: 5934 A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Roy Elementary for a Title I /Trustland/Playground/Elementary Aide. This position is for 5.5 hours per day, 9 months per year. Applicants may apply on  Files will be reviewed before interviews are scheduled. THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED, AFTER A MINIMUM OF 3 WORKING DAYS.

Purpose Statement

The job of Title I Aide was established for the purpose of improving students' success in basic academics (e.g., reading, language, and/or math); performing clerical tasks pertaining to Title I; assisting students by modeling the necessary skills to perform assignments.

Essential Functions
  • Adapts classroom materials under the direction of the teacher (e.g., reading/math labs, computers, etc.) for the purpose of providing a method to support and/or reinforce classroom objectives.
  • Administers tests for the purpose of assisting the teacher in evaluating students' progress.
  • Confers with teachers as may be required for the purpose of providing input into the evaluation of students' progress and/or implementing/modifying students' objectives.
  • Implements instructional programs and lesson plans (e.g., reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.) for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students' academic success through a defined course of study.
  • Instructs students (individual or small groups) for the purpose of implementing goals for remediation of student deficiencies and ensuring student success.
  • Maintains Title I program materials/equipment (e.g., computers, printers, student files, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items and/or providing reliable information.
  • Monitors individual and/or groups of students in various situations for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Performs record keeping and clerical functions pertaining to Title I programs/services (e.g., scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling lists, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher in providing necessary records/materials.
  • Promotes good study habits for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes.
  • Responds to emergency situations (e.g., ill or injured student, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Other Functions
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

  • Ability to learn the special needs of particular individuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to meet and interact with teachers, parents, and students with tact, courtesy, and discretion.

    Experience

    Job-related experience is preferred.

    Education

    Must have 2 years of college or an Associates degree or have passed the para-professional test.

    PE Aide Responsibilities

    The job of PE aide was established for the purpose of providing for the safety and welfare of students during activities.

    Essential Functions
  • Facilitates games among students (e.g., hands out equipment, balls, etc.) for the purpose of providing age-appropriate activities.
  • Intervenes in potential emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of playground activities and/or injury to involved students.
  • Implements, under the supervision of the principal, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of providing age-appropriate engaging physical activities.
  • Monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (e.g., restrooms, playgrounds, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
