A position has been declared open in the Weber School District for an Elementary Aide. This position is for (under 4 hours) per day, 9 months per year. Applicants should apply on Files will be reviewed before interviews are scheduled.
THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED, AFTER A MINIMUM OF 5 WORKING DAYS.
Purpose Statement
The job of Elementary Teachers Aide was established for the purpose of assisting assigned teaching personnel in the supervision and instruction of students, and performing classroom clerical tasks in support of the instructional process.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
- Guides students in independent study (e.g. enrichment work, remedial work, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student success.
- Implements, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students' academic success through a defined course of study.
- Monitors individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, etc. for the purpose of ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher and/or administrator in providing records/materials.
Other Functions:
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Must be able to adapt to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; working as part of a team.
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
- Must have knowledge of common office machines; and office methods and practices.
- Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; being attentive to detail; meeting deadlines and schedules; adapting to changing work priorities; and working as part of a team.
- Must have knowledge of concepts of grammar and punctuation; and stages of child development.
- Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; and working with constant interruptions.
- Must have knowledge of instructional/tutorial procedures and practices; intervention techniques; age appropriate activities; stages of child development; and safety practices and procedures.
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
