A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Sand Ridge Jr. High School for a Level 3 Math Teacher. This position is for 8 hours per day, 9 months per year. THIS JOB POSTING IS FOR THE  SCHOOL YEAR. APPLICANTS MAY APPLY ON

Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher is responsible for the education of assigned students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Establishing effective rapport with students and motivating them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for further education.
• Developing lesson plans and adapting curriculum to meet individual student needs.
• Utilizing effective teaching techniques to translate lesson plans into productive student learning experiences.
• Utilizing computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
• Controlling the storage and use of district-owned property; making minor adjustments and requesting repairs as required.
• Maintaining classroom organization and discipline.
• Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Providing and maintaining a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and school grounds.
• Devising and utilizing techniques to accurately measure students' progress.
• Evaluating students' academic and personal growth, keeping appropriate records, and preparing progress reports.
• Communicating with parents through conferences and other means regarding academic and personal progress.
• Demonstrating professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission and conforming to district policies including attendance, absences, and evaluations.
• Possessing problem-solving skills and establishing effective working relationships with students, school staff, district staff, and patrons.
• Having knowledge of State Core Curriculum and Board of Education adopted guides.

Valid Utah Secondary Teaching License with a Math endorsement.
