Learning Assistants are only offered in specific classes and typically require a faculty recommendation.

• Attending the course in which they are embedded;
• Functioning as a mentor, coach, and tutor to students in the course;
• Holding review sessions and/or tutoring hours outside class to help students retain course material, including coaching students on study strategies;
• Attending training sessions as mandated by the Learning Assistant supervisor.

• Must have taken a class that we offer Learning Assistant’s for and gotten a B or better (If you have taken a class equivalent to one we hire for, or taken higher level classes in that subject, you may also be considered). • Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be reliable and confident in subject area.
