Looking for math tutors to provide academic support to students in a variety of math subjects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for helping students succeed. Becoming a math tutor will require and provide additional training.
Required QualificationsCompleted Calculus I with a B+ or better, or equivalent course.
Preferred Qualifications- Must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 in mathematics subjects
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, reliability, and a passion for tutoring
Criminal Background check is required as a condition of employment.
Physical Requirements of this PositionPhysical activity includes extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction, standing for sustained periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, lifting objects up to 10 pounds occasionally, operating, activating, using, preparing, inspecting, placing, detecting, or positioning items, grasping and applying pressure. Activities also involve communicating complex information accurately, receiving detailed instructions, and repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers.
Physical Requirements of this Position (continued)Sedentary work with occasional walking and standing. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Sitting most of the time.
Visual Acuity RequirementsRequired to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
