Project Overview:

Bechtel is on the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the U.S. Sentinel system of inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure.

Sentinel is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation’s aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman Sentinel nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.

A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for project’s electrical engineering aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of project’s electrical engineering aspects are met.

This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Ogden, UT, who will prepare designs for electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the USAF Sentinel program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

Major Responsibilities:

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• Participates in the design, development, and modification of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
• Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
• Coordinates electrical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
• Prepares conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
• Provides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
