Craig Technologies is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Bechtel and Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground‑based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel’s scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.

In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure electrical designs comply with all regulations and standards.

This position is for a Smart Plant 3D Designer who will prepare electrical 3D designs as well as 2D electrical AutoCAD and Smart Sketch designs to support new facility infrastructure design for DOD and USAF projects. • Leads or administers work of electrical designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2‑D and 3‑D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.
• Develops designs for complete and complex electrical engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed. Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
• Assists in constructing detailed scale models.
• Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
• Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved electrical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
• Participates in constructability reviews.
• Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
• Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
• Reviews electrical design scope changes, as required, for project management.
• Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
• This role will support design development of electrical systems and equipment for the Sentinel project by preparing models, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.

• Supporting, coaching, and training less experienced designers.
• Modeling of electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, conduit duct bank, lighting, receptacles, etc. in a Smartplant 3D model environment.
• Creating bill of materials and drawing installation details for the modelled items listed above in addition to grounding, lightning protection, support details, and other details using Smart Sketch and AutoCAD.
• Performing calculations utilizing AGI 32 for lighting layouts and ETAP for ground grid layouts.
• Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
