Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Designer
Work Location: Ogden, UT (Onsite)

Job Summary: In this role, you will support Mechanical Engineers in developing engineering design drawings for plumbing, fire protection, diesel, and HVAC systems.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare 2‑D CAD intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on sketches and marked‑up prints.
- Review drawings and documents prepared by others to ensure incorporation of drafting standards, procedures, discipline standards, and other national standards, as required.
- Identify and recommend solutions to conflicts in the design and mark‑ups.
- Mentor Mechanical designers and drafters by providing appropriate on‑the‑job training for their professional development.
- Responsible for data integrity of components list.
- Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Level 1:
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 5‑8 years of relevant experience, or 9‑12 years of relevant work experience. - Level 2:
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 8‑10 years of relevant experience, or 12‑14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Prior experience with industry‑wide design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley Micro Station, PDS2D, PDS3D, Smartplant P& their component databases.
- Experience working in a project team environment to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug and background check, which includes verification of employment and education.
- Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME NQA‑1, or AS9100D.
- Possess active security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
