Job Overview

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting a Junior Mechanical Engineer for a 12‑month contract in Ogden, UT
. This position supports the Sentinel Program which modernizes the ground‑based component of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad. The role is onsite, W‑2 hourly with $60.00 per hour base, overtime time‑and‑half, and per diem assistance. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active or obtainable security clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering with 1‑5 years experience.
• Passed Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in the USA (Mechanical or related).
• Experience with quality assurance procedures such as AS9100.
• Basic knowledge of developing CSI Master format specifications or Unified Facilities Guide Specifications using Specs Intact.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical system design, including sizing, equipment selection, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and requirements verification.

• Participates in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes.
• Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data to develop professional work knowledge through standard mechanical engineering techniques.
• Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records.
• Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
• Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for mechanical‑related matters.
• Coordinates the development and presentation of material when requested.
• Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, design reports, or proposals.
• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria with independent judgment.
• Provides technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interacts with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in resolving complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
• Assists in project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
