Principal/Sr.

Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer

This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:
  • Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management
  • Develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems
  • Author inspection plans
  • Coordinate support for issues at Receiving
  • Act as a primary liaison between the Supplier Mission Assurance and Receiving Inspection organizations
  • Investigate non conformances that are suspect supplier-caused
  • Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance
  • Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks
  • Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer:
    Bachelor's in Science degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience
  • Sr. Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer:
    Bachelor's in Science degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience interfacing effectively with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and/or management
  • Manufacturing or engineering experience
  • Inspection experience
  • Experience with GD&T requirements
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO
    9001 requirements
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve issues at the supply base
  • Experience developing, planning, and implementing quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items.
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience performing Supplier Quality Assurance in an Engineering Manufacturing Development program
  • Experience in the aerospace/defense industry
  • Six Sigma or Lean certifications
Salary Information

Primary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $. Secondary Level Salary Range: $ - $. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
