Project OverviewBechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction partner on the Northrop Grumman Sentinel Program, modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad. The program’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on ground infrastructure, including ICBM systems and launch facilities.
Job SummaryAs part of the Mechanical Engineering team, you will support the Engineering Group Service (EGS), Lead Engineers, and the Project Engineer/Project Manager by collecting, organizing, and presenting technical data. Your work involves coordinating submittals, back‑checking drawings, managing meeting documentation, and ensuring tasks meet schedule and quality standards.
Major Responsibilities- Support tracking of information and locating documents for the EGS, Lead, and engineers.
- Perform data searches and maintain open punch list item status.
- Prepare presentation slides for meeting presentations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical documents under engineer direction, including CAD updates and back‑checking.
- Ensure work meets high‑quality standards while adhering to the schedule.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership within the work group and across disciplines.
- Maintain key process improvement registers.
- Foster a work environment that promotes openness, trust, and teamwork.
- Level 1:
Associate of Arts or Science degree (or equivalent) with 1–2 years of relevant work experience OR no degree with 4–5 years of relevant experience. - Level 2:
Associate degree (or equivalent) with 3–4 years of relevant experience OR no degree with 5–6 years of relevant experience. - U.S. citizenship required.
- Must complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint.
- Strong computer skills, including relational databases for data collection and presentation.
- Analytical ability to extract and classify information from technical documents.
- Detail orientation for accurate data capture from large documents and datasets.
- Coordination across multiple disciplines and functions.
- Interest in learning to draft piping & instrumentation diagrams.
- Preferred: experience on Bechtel, DOD, or DOE projects.
