Bechtel is on the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the Sentinel missile launch infrastructure. Sentinel is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation’s aging force of inter‑continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent.

Job Summary:

The Trend Engineer is responsible for coordinating and implementing scope changes through the change management process. Changes include deviations to plan, scope change requests, contract mods and impacts of performance. This position will require strong interpersonal and communication skills to understand and interpret technical and non‑technical scope impacts for trend and baseline change documentation. This position is responsible for maintenance of the change management process and tools, and their interface with schedule and cost systems.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepares trends, coordinates their resolution, and conducts change control review meetings.
  • Coordinates change management and annual project forecast update activities.
  • Assists project personnel in the development of trends including cost estimating and analysis of impacts in support of the trend program
  • Develops, interprets, and executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to change management activities.
  • Updates and maintains change control metrics and logs
  • Participates in the development of and change management related training of assigned personnel and the implementation of on‑the‑job and classroom training programs.
  • Integrates the change management process with other key project processes (e.g., Risk Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims) and supports corporate, Global Business Unit, commercial group, and functional stakeholders in managing change related activities.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and presents change management related presentations to Bechtel and client management, as required.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for the analysis of specially assigned change related initiatives or work planning requiring detailed change assessment, forecasting and response planning efforts.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must possess at least a bachelors' (BS/BA) degree from an accredited university and five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, high school diploma or equivalent and nine (9) or more years of directly relevant professional experience.
  • US citizenship is required by contract requirement.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.
  • Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to influence, drive, and coach the team in effective change management at all stages of delivery.
  • Demonstrated capability to interface with commercial and technical functions to effect baseline change management.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability to present information to management and to the client.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel data analysis functions.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
