Job Summary
Our client is looking for an Engineering Technologist – Mechanical to join their Mechanical Engineering team. In this role, you’ll work closely with EGS, Lead Engineers, and the Project Engineer/Project Manager to gather, organize, and manage technical information from multiple sources. You’ll help track schedules and progress, coordinate submittals, review and back‑check drawing updates, and support document reviews, meetings, and workshops.
This role is ideal for someone who’s highly organized, comfortable working with data and systems, and enjoys collaborating with different engineering disciplines.
- Supporting EGS, Lead Engineers, and the engineering team by tracking project information and locating technical documents
- Performing data searches and maintaining the status of open items and punch lists
- Assisting with meeting materials, including preparing presentation slides
- Supporting the preparation and review of technical documents under the guidance of an engineer
- Assisting with CAD updates and back‑checking drawings
- Ensuring work is completed to high‑quality standards while meeting project schedules
- Demonstrating strong communication, leadership, quality, and safety values when working with both internal teams and interfacing disciplines
- Maintaining Key Process Improvement registers
- Helping foster a positive work environment built on trust, teamwork, open communication, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Strong computer aptitude for collecting, organizing, and presenting technical data, including the use of relational databases
- Ability to analyze technical documents, identify relevant information, and classify data for easy retrieval and future use
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and extract large volumes of information efficiently
- Ability to work closely with engineers, technical experts, analysts, and management
- High attention to detail when reviewing large documents and datasets
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple disciplines and functions
- Interest in learning how to draft intelligent Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Preferred:
Previous experience on client projects and/or Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Energy (DOE) projects
Level 1
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree (or international equivalent) with 1–2 years of relevant experience
- OR
- No degree with 4–5 years of relevant work experience
Level 2
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree (or international equivalent) with 3–4 years of relevant experience
- OR
- No degree with 5–6 years of relevant work experience
