We’ve broken ground with more‑electric technology and electromechanical flight control systems. Looking ahead we’re further improving flight control actuation for traditional and advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft with new technologies and manufacturing advancements.
POSITION SUMMARYWith limited guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks of a semi‑complex scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, equipment and production machinery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on breakdowns to improve equipment uptime.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PPM), document work in CMMS, and close work orders with detailed notes.
- Align, level, and calibrate machines (ball screws, linear guides, spindles, turrets, tail stocks, rotary axes).
- Diagnose and repair servo motors/drives, VFDs, encoders/resolvers, I/O modules, and HMIs.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, ladder logic, and OEM manuals.
- Verify machine geometry and accuracy (tram, squareness, backlash compensation); perform test cuts and adjust offsets.
- Service peripheral systems: coolant delivery and filtration, chip conveyors, mist collectors, lubrication, and chillers.
- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for complex repairs, parts sourcing, and warranty service.
- Maintain spare parts inventory, suggest improvements, and support reliability initiatives.
- Adhere to safety procedures (LOTO, NFPA 70E), complete permits, and participate in safety audits and training.
- Perform other related responsibilities.
- CNC mills, lathes, and multitasking machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Okuma, DMG Mori, Doosan).
- Controls and automation (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Heidenhain; Allen‑Bradley/Siemens PLC interfaces).
- Motion systems (servo drives/ampifiers, VFDs, encoders, linear scales).
- Mechanical systems (spindles, ball screws, linear guideways, rotary tables).
- Plant utilities and support systems (hydraulic power units, pneumatic circuits, coolers/chillers, lubrication).
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machine maintenance, industrial maintenance, or machine repair.
- Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting up to 480V 3‑phase; safe use of multimeters, megger, and basic test equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude: precision alignment, bearing/spindle work, ball screw replacement, and geometric correction.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
