The AML Compliance Analyst will review, and work alerts generated by account activity, government sanction lists, and the Bank’s surveillance tools to identify customers and transactions that may violate anti-money laundering and terrorist financing laws and regulations. Additionally, the Analyst will follow defined processes, procedures, instructions, and checklists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily surveillance of account activity for anomalous, high-risk activity
- Perform low and medium level investigations of potentially suspicious activity
- Working knowledge of all open-intelligence analysis techniques and analytic writing
- Perform due diligence on customers and potential customers
- Documents and tracks AML alerts and decisions
- Communicates with BSA Officer, AML Investigator and/or departments as needed
- Assist the Compliance/Fraud/Legal departments as needed and assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Required education and experience:
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior banking, compliance, audit processes/procedures or other related experience preferred
- Prior BSA/AML experience preferred
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic problem resolution and research skills
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
- Working knowledge of computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently yet still be team-oriented
- A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements
- Obtain and maintain proficient knowledge of banking laws and regulations
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data
- Basic knowledge of bank services, policies, and procedures
