Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treating injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices. The role also includes consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers and collaborating with care teams to deliver quality, patient-centered care.
Essential Functions- Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health.
- Provides skilled physical therapy services, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups.
- Conducts evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (APTA).
- Develops care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments.
- Meets established productivity standards for the department or service line.
- Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies.
- Completes patient billing accurately and promptly.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals.
- Manages all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students.
- Participates in continuing education opportunities for self and staff.
- Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use and improving clinical outcomes.
- Participates in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and staff meetings.
- Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program.

- Current Physical Therapist license in the state where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Basic computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
