salary: $56,281.50 – $80,106.13 per year.
required prerequisites- national registry or utah advanced emergency medical technician (emt basic), emt advanced or paramedic preferred.
- national fire protection association firefighter 1 and 2 (nfpa ff‑1 & ff‑2).
- hazardous materials first responder – awareness and operationspa hazmat awareness & ops).
- education: high school diploma or ged.
copy of all prerequisite certification certificates must be attached to the application before the closing date. If ifsac or pro board seals or labels are not legible, certifications will not be accepted. No substitutes will be allowed.
fire certifications must be certified through the utah fire rescue academy (ufra) or another certifying agency that provides international fire service accreditation (ifsac) or pro board reciprocity certification. An ifsac or pro board seal with a legible number must be present on certificate copies. Non‑ifsac/pro board certifications will not be accepted.

- respond to medical incidents, operate equipment, provide basic life support, airway, breathing, circulation, spinal immobilization, patient packaging, and ambulance transport.
- participate in training to comply with national, state, and industry standards.
- obtain and preserve evidence at a fire scene.
- inspect building structures for fire code compliance.
- prepare reports.
- explain city fire codes and prevention policies to the public.
- clean apparatus and equipment, perform custodial duties.
- provide public information and instruction on fire prevention, cpr, and career opportunities.

- complete one hour of physical training during each 48‑hour shift.
