Purpose and Scope

Guides, develops, and implements strategic and tactical HR initiatives to achieve business objectives, ensuring alignment across business units, divisions, and corporate practices. Provides expertise, coaching, consultation, and problem‑solving on organizational design, change management, recruitment and selection, performance management, employee development, succession planning, employee relations, training, and policy interpretation within a highly matrixed, geographically dispersed organization.

Responsibilities
  • Defines leadership development needs and contributes to solutions that enhance managerial effectiveness.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of recruitment and retention programs, ensuring proper job definition and competitive pay.
  • Contributes to improvements and simplification of new‑hire processes and onboarding, partnering with managers as needed.
  • Interprets, communicates, and enforces HR policies within and across organizations.
  • Coaches managers and employees on performance management, including development of performance improvement plans and documentation of progressive discipline.
  • Guides managers in establishing effective individual development plans.
  • Advises managers on local, state, and federal statutes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and coordinating with corporate legal when appropriate.
  • Leads succession planning to identify and develop a pipeline of high‑potential or promo table employees.
  • Collaborates with Corporate HR to deliver services to client businesses.
  • Analyzes employee data for business decisions such as staffing, turnover, recruitment, affirmative action, compensation, and promotions.
  • Investigates and resolves employee‑relations problems, anticipating issues and recommending resolution steps.
  • May represent the company at employment‑related claims hearings with external agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience and Required Skills
  • Minimum 8–12 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 3 years of experience (or equivalent directly related work experience).
  • SHRM Certification (SHRM‑SCP, SHRM‑CP) desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage one or more departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of business basics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem‑analysis and solution‑development skills.
  • Current knowledge of employment and agency law trends, labor market, and HR best practices.
