The RoleThis is a full-time remote role for a Product Designer. As a Product Designer reporting directly to the Lead Product Designer, you will play a key role in executing design tasks, bringing new features to life, and contributing to the overall user experience of our product. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the details of interaction and motion design, enjoys the challenge of making interfaces feel intuitive and delightful through movement, and thrives in a collaborative environment, particularly with developers.
You will work closely with the Lead Product Designer to receive guidance, critique, strategic direction, and overall vision, while taking ownership of key execution areas. The designer will be responsible for creating visually compelling graphics, designing intuitive user interfaces, and developing engaging marketing materials. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with the product team and engineers, conducting design research, and iterating based on internal + user feedback to ensure a high-quality user experience.
Key Responsibilities- Design & Implement Interactions & Motion: Design and specify purposeful micro-interactions, the occasional marketing material, and animations that enhance the user experience, clarify relationships, and guide users through workflows. Contribute to defining and documenting motion guidelines for the product.
- Wire-framing & Idea Exploration: Quickly translate product requirements and user stories into clear wireframes and basic user flows to explore design solutions and facilitate early feedback.
- Prototyping: Create prototypes (ranging from basic click-throughs to more complex interactive/motion-rich examples) to test concepts, gather feedback, and communicate design intent, especially regarding motion and interaction.
- Design System Adherence & Contribution: Work diligently within our established design system, utilizing existing components and patterns. Identify opportunities for improvement or new components (especially related to motion/interaction) and contribute to the system under the guidance and approval of the Lead Designer.
- Account for Edge Cases: Reason critically about various user scenarios, error states, empty states, and other edge cases, documenting and designing appropriate solutions within your work.
- Execute Design Iterations: Implement small design changes and updates based on feedback, testing, or ongoing product needs, collaborating directly with developers to ensure accurate implementation.
