20 Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Brigham City, UT $55.00-$60.00
Responsibilities- Maintain communications with administration to ensure Safety is “number one” as a Corporation.
- Interact with employees to ascertain human interaction/relationships are in compliance with company policies and those relating to problems that adversely affect employee morale, productivity and safety.
- Assist in developing and implementing company and departmental policies and procedures, including the company handbook as they relate to Safety; consult legal counsel as necessary.
- Enforce food safety programs and procedures, GMP policy, and personnel hygiene policies.
- Counsel management on personnel issues relating to regulations, laws or agencies such as EEOC, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, EPA, ANSI, NIOSH, NFPA, HIPAA, W/C, etc.; ensure compliance with all Federal and State Laws and Regulations.
- Inspect machinery to ensure compliance with all Federal/State Safety Laws and Regulations.
- Ensure personal files comply with ADA, HIPAA, W/C, OSHA, and other regulations.
- Conduct disciplinary meetings with employees’ supervisors; ensure all documentation is correct.
- Collaborate with Team Leads, Supervisors, and others on employee services, training, and safety relations.
- Oversee all safety PPE equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date training; oversee MTRs, create and oversee Tech Level Training, Forklift Certification, CPR/FA training, Safety compliance training, etc.
- Conduct Safety audits; monitor dust levels (DBA), PFT testing, baseline hearing testing, etc.
- Oversee a Drug‑Free Workplace Program; ensure proper testing to maintain a safe workplace and negotiate insurance discounts.
- Ensure quality of work; record information accurately and timely on specified documents.
- Properly use and care of equipment and materials issued to work area.
- Ability to perform all tasks defined above.
- College degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
- Working knowledge of computers and familiarity with software programs such as Excel and Publisher.
- Excellent comprehension, speech, reading and writing in English to perform essential functions related to laws, regulations, standards and communications.
- Familiarity with OSHA 300 and 100 logs and reports.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of cGMP; ability to develop and maintain a teamwork environment.
- Physical ability to move about to accomplish tasks; lift up to 30 lbs; stand, stoop, reach and crouch as required.
- Basic arithmetic skills for conversion of measurement units.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write and prepare business letters, memorandums and reports as needed.
- Subject to moderate noise level and high noise levels where hearing protection may be required.
- Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, and other particulates from machines.
