We are seeking a Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse operations within assigned departments, ensuring safety, service, quality, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. This role is responsible for leading and developing Team Leads, Specialists, and associates; driving accountability and operational excellence; and ensuring staffing, training, and resources are aligned with business demands. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven leader who develops other leaders, makes sound decisions, drives continuous improvement, and builds an engaged, high-performing team in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
- Own day-to-day departmental performance by monitoring operational KPIs throughout the shift, identifying trends and removing barriers, and implementing corrective actions to achieve safety, service, quality, and productivity targets.
- Drive a people-first, performance-driven culture that promotes accountability, engagement, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Champion safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards; ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Translate operational plans into executable daily priorities; provide direction to Leads and Specialists to ensure consistent execution.
- Lead, coach, and develop Leads, Specialists, and associates; build a strong talent pipeline and prepare future leaders for advancement.
- Hold teams accountable to performance expectations, SOP compliance, attendance standards, and company policies.
- Partner with Leads and other Supervisors to effectively allocate labor, equipment, and resources to meet changing business demands and volume fluctuations.
- Partner closely with other departments to resolve issues and ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct regular floor presence and engagement; provide coaching, recognition, and real-time feedback.
- Support onboarding, training, cross-training, and performance development activities to improve workforce capability and flexibility.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and performance management processes.
- Lead departmental readiness for peak periods, promotions, and volume surges by ensuring staffing, training, and operational plans are in place.
- Review and communicate department performance to your teams on a consistent basis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve service, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and operating costs.
- Serve as the escalation point for operational issues, exercising independent judgment to make sound decisions, communicate risks, and lead facility operations during assigned shifts when senior leadership is not present.
- Promote cross-training to build a flexible workforce and develop working knowledge across departments to support collaboration and leadership coverage.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all processes, equipment, systems, and workflows within your area; be capable of stepping onto the floor to direct, support, and execute operational activities when business needs require.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of warehouse operations.
