The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Composite Technician to join our 8542 Composite team.
The Composite Technician will have responsibility for the setup, assembly, fabrication and configuration of articles in support of composite fabrication. Tasks may include but are not limited to tooling assembly/disassembly, mixing and applying liner/paint/bond materials, use of various chemicals, composites fabrication, and performing material testing. He/she will participate in inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are manufactured in accordance with manufacturing standards and specifications.
All Cell Specialists are also responsible to ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the assigned Cell.
Additionally, the Composite Technician will:
Qualifications
- High School or GED and a minimum of two years of directly related experience or certification in lieu of experience.
- Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management.
- Reads, understands and correctly interprets basic blueprint drawings.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to height of 35 inches.
(Note – must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.) - Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 80 lbs.
- Must have grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
- Responsible for and accountable for product safety and the quality of work, including, as a minimum, all elements defined in the Company’s Quality Policy.
- US Citizenship Required.
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
