Position: CNC Machinist (Grinders) - 3rd Shift

Opportunity

The CNC Machinist will have responsibility for the setup and operation of miscellaneous computerized numerical control (CNC) and/or manual machines in cell location 8595 (Turbine Disk and Blade). The Machinist will also ensure that machines are properly tooled and may be required to make recommendations to modify programs as appropriate. They will participate in inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure the parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and specifications.

Additionally, the CNC Machinist will:

Set up and operate miscellaneous CNC and/or manual machines (OD/, comparators, and center grinders).

Machine and/or test parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.

Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.

Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material, and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications.

Perform inspection and/or testing activities to ensure parts are machined per standards and blueprints. Visually inspect parts for burrs or damage.

Provide input for selecting, installing, and adjusting CNC and manual machine cutting tools based on material type and size.

Remove burrs, sharp edges, and irregularities to meet blueprint and tolerance requirements.

Maintain proper identification of parts and ensure accurate documentation.

Communicate shift change requirements effectively.

Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.

Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with standards.

Ensure continuous flow of materials and parts through the cell.

Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of machining experience with CNC grinders. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, planning, and manufacturing specifications. Basic knowledge of machining mathematics and inspection techniques. Ability to rough burrs from machined parts. May train and guide lower skill team members.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist (use lift assist or assistance for heavier lifts).
Must be able to push or pull 60 lbs.
Grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
U.S. citizenship required.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if needed, subject to security investigation and eligibility.
