The Role

As a crucial part of our production line, the welder is responsible for controlling the pressure vessel parts, subcomponents, and non‑pressure parts. Your role as a Welder is to weld metal components, fabricating or repairing products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and SMAW welding processes. In more advanced cases, it must be able to perform "open root" techniques on pressure parts using GTAW and GMAW Processes.

Responsibilities
  • Welds metal parts together, using various welding processes, and may be required to perform Oxy‑Acetylene brazing; welds light gauge parts, intermediate and heavy metal parts together.
  • Deposit intermittent tack welds for fit‑up and alignment of work assemblies.
  • Utilize different welding‑related equipment and tools, which may be designated as a production line welder.
  • Must be able to use jigs, fixtures, and tooling to assemble parts and components.
  • Conduct in‑process visual inspections of welded products or processes to evaluate quality or performance; examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Support cross‑training and demonstrate competency in all essential job functions of the department working at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.
  • Follow the company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
Required Experience
  • One‑year certificate from college or technical school or a combination of six months to one year of related training and/or experience with specialized welding skills.
  • ASME Welder positions may require five‑plus years’ experience, depending on the level of experience required.
  • amiliarity with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment manufacturing, welding technology, materials technology, manufacturing methods technology, and a wide variety of weld methods and equipment knowledge, safety requirements; GTAW, GMAW, SA, SMAW & Brazing, pressure vessel, piping, pump, fluid transfer, heat transfer design experience preferred.
  • Proven working experience adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.
  • Proven experience understanding various measuring devices to meet drawing dimensions and specifications.
  • Proven working experience analyzing documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • You must pass employer welding performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of ASME, governmental agencies, or professional and technical associations.
  • An annual Visual Acuity Examination may be required.
