The Role
As a Dimensional and Visual Inspector you will perform nondestructive dimensional and visual inspection of both Flat and Round Products. You will support the set-up of several inspection equipment and the preparation and revising of area procedures.
You will report to the Team Manager and be located at Ogden, UT. You will support this role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities- Help with the set-up and operation of dimensional inspection equipment.
- Review travelers and inspection procedures. Clean material in preparation for making nondestructive and dimensional inspections.
- Set up and conduct tests using ultrasonic thickness measuring instruments for thickness testing.
- Inspect products and material by taking necessary measurements such as length, width, diameter, and thickness and document.
- Is familiar with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers.
- Make visual inspections and compare to specifications and standards.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation on all phases of inspection processes following requirements.
- Help with new testing and inspection procedures and with methods for dimensional inspections.
- Crosstrain, as directed by management, to perform inspection tasks as assigned.
- Must have the ability to understand and interpret customer requirements and specifications.
- Will use overhead cranes and mobile equipment such as forklifts. Can use basic hand tools such as drills, banding equipment, metal cutters.
- Abide by all rules and regulations of local site and corporate policies and procedures.
- High school graduate or GED.
- One year of technical school or equivalent dimensional inspection experience.
- One year technical or manufacturing experience or six (6) months inspection experience.
- Can make mathematical type calculations and be able to read micrometers, calipers or dimensional measuring equipment.
- Good troubleshooting knowledge and mechanical ability to perform tasks following detailed work instructions and verbal commands.
- Work in a team environment with an understanding of manufacturing safety requirements (PPE, Lock and Tag, Human Performance tools).
The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $24.68 per hour.
