We are currently looking for a Communication & Community Engagement Specialist to work Monday - Friday at our Branch located at 2605 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT. The Communications & Community Engagement Specialist plays a key role in advancing the bank’s brand, voice and community mission. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing & Communications and working closely with the bank’s content writer and PR partner, this role manages communications across both internal and external audiences while leading community engagement efforts with partners and organizations.
The specialist connects teams, partners and initiatives to the right platforms and messages. The person in this role provides direction, logistical support and insight to help ensure communications and outreach are timely, relevant and reflective of the bank’s values. This is a collaborative, execution-focused position that blends storytelling, sponsorship promotion, event support and community impact to strengthen the bank’s presence, both within the organization and in the communities it serves.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in communications, community relations or nonprofit partnership support, preferably in a financial or regulated industry.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across departments and in the community.
- Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple projects at once.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with content management systems, email marketing platforms and social media tools is a plus.
- Experience coordinating or supporting PR campaigns.
- Familiarity with community giving, CRA tracking or nonprofit partnerships.
- Understanding of brand voice and messaging strategy.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for community involvement and clear communication.
- Draft, edit and distribute internal communications—including important alerts, department updates, company-wide bulletins and employee newsletters—to ensure timely, clear and consistent messaging across the organization.
- Draft, edit and distribute external communications—including press releases, media advisories, speeches and talking points— that promote the bank’s brand, initiatives and community impact.
- Maintain the bank’s communications calendar to ensure employees, customers and stakeholders receive accurate, timely updates.
- Support storytelling efforts by identifying newsworthy initiatives and creating content that highlights the bank’s community engagement, customer impact and corporate milestones.
- Serve as a point of contact for coordinating and collecting stories, quotes and collateral from internal teams and community partners.
- Assist with website and social media content updates in collaboration with the digital team.
- Work closely with the bank’s PR partner to support earned media opportunities, including interviews, photo ops and press outreach.
