Job Summary /Basic Function

The NUHOPE Program Specialist is responsible to serve as front-line representation for NUHOPE Coalition and build cooperative relationships with community leaders, agencies, volunteers, and other stakeholders. In the interest of program growth and sustainability the position will be responsible to identify potential funding opportunities. Furthermore, this person will be required to plan and facilitate monthly staff and coalition meetings, keep minutes, and delegate as needed.

This position interacts with key community leaders, nonprofit and government agencies, an extensive volunteer base, and other stakeholders to facilitate program goals and objectives. The Specialist provides support to NUHOPE employees in the form of supervision, hiring, evaluating processes and practices for quality and effectiveness, implementing change and improvement where necessary, scheduling certification trainings, time card management, facilitating communication between schools and program educators, scheduling community-based trainings, ordering supplies and support materials, collecting and processing mileage and travel reimbursements, collecting and reporting data on completed educational sessions and program budget administration.

The specialist is also responsible for event coordination including the annual NUHOPE Suicide Awareness Walk.

Responsibilities

• Front-line representation for NUHOPE Coalition; build cooperative relationships with community leaders, agencies, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

• Identify potential funding opportunities to support program growth and sustainability.

• Plan and facilitate monthly staff and coalition meetings; keep minutes; delegate as needed.

• Supervise NUHOPE employees; handle hiring, evaluating processes, implementing improvements.

• Schedule certification trainings, manage time cards, facilitate communication between schools and program educators.

• Schedule community-based trainings, order supplies and support materials.

• Collect and process mileage and travel reimbursements; collect and report data on completed educational sessions and program budget administration.

• Coordinate events including the annual NUHOPE Suicide Awareness Walk.

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
  • 3-5 years in similar administrative position
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Time management
  • Organization
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs on a regular basis
  • Background check (criminal)
