Registered Nurse Same Day Surgery PRN

Intermountain Health invites qualified Registered Nurses to support Same Day Surgery patients on a PRN basis. This role emphasizes patient assessment, collaborative care planning, and seamless coordination with the operative team.

As a PRN RN, you will deliver bedside nursing care following the surgical schedule, ensuring safe postoperative recovery while maintaining documentation and communication with surgical staff.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessment, including physical, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the surgical team, family, and patient.
• Implement interventions, monitor responses, and adjust care plans based on clinical outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Demonstrate professionalism, uphold ethical standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Current RN license in Utah.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required; RN with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire.
• Experience in surgical or postoperative nursing is preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Call shifts required.
• Must be available to pick up 1–2 scheduled shifts per week and additional call shifts as needed.

• Lifting and transferring patients; frequent use of handheld and computer devices.
• Extended periods of standing and walking, including ambulating patients and navigating busy clinical areas.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, family, and multidisciplinary team members.
