- Required Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of outdoor equipment and its use.
- Experience maintaining and repairing a variety of outdoor equipment.
- Familiarity with the OP Rental Shop policies and procedures.
- American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and standard First Aid Certifications.
- Ability to work on independent projects and take initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to stand or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and/or wet conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills.

The OP Rental Center Specialist – Equipment will be responsible for managing and maintaining equipment fleets at the OP Rental Center. Duties include but are not limited to: researching and implementing best practices related to gear maintenance, assisting with the preparation and management of the annual gear sale, assisting with the bi-annual inventory process, developing potential training/skill workshops for rental technicians, and providing general instructions on the use of outdoor equipment to staff or customers.
This position is expected to help improve efficiency and effectiveness at the program. Specialists will be expected to take initiative in improving the program by presenting ideas and projects to managers/coordinators, and to work towards implementing those specific projects. This position will work closely with the OP Coordinator and the student manager of OP Rentals.
