Responsibilities

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them, maintaining a clean and orderly store, and providing excellent customer service. Associates work in all areas of the store as required and may be asked to perform additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe, clutter‑free environment.
  • Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy, greeting each customer and using company recognition programs.
  • Assist customers at the register, answer questions, and handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls and resolve issues courteously.
  • Support the company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Carry out daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat and well‑merchandised.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor, merchandising items per monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, Store Protection Specialist role, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise.
  • Follow MOS policies, proper disposal procedures, and all cash and refund policies.
  • Maintain accuracy when handling bankable tenders and follow store best practices.
  • Show a sense of urgency to maximize productivity.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
  • Effective communication with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills commonly used in retail.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Ability to use store equipment, registers, PDTs, and PCs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for 100% of the workday.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Occasional push, pull, and lift more than 25 lb.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Some assignments may require additional qualifications or skills.
  • Stockroom associates: push, pull, and lift more than 20 lb.
