This part‑time position is part of the police department’s event policing team. The officer will perform routine foot patrol, traffic control, crime prevention, and event security duties. Primary duties also include the prevention and detection of crime and the enforcement of criminal statutes or ordinances of the state or any of its political subdivisions. This is a pooled position; applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available and the pool will expire after a period of time with notification to applicants.

• Carry out assigned activities, operations and programs within the police department, including routine foot patrol, traffic control, crime prevention, and events.
• Prevent and detect crime and enforce criminal statutes or ordinances of the state or its political subdivisions.
• Train on events with a full‑time officer during the first few shifts worked.
• Complete required payroll and HR documents prior to beginning work.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Utah Driver License.
• Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) SFO State Certification (Active Status).
• Work a minimum of 20 hours every six months.
• Letter of good standing with current employer.
• Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use word processing software required.

• Associate Degree.
• Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) LEO State Certification (Active Status).
• Currently employed full‑time as a Law Enforcement Officer.
• Experience working large crowd events and traffic control.
