Job Summary /Basic Function- To carry out assigned activities, operations and programs within the police department including routine foot patrol, traffic control, crime prevention and events.
- Primary and principle duties also consist of the prevention and detection of crime and the enforcement of criminal statutes or ordinances of the state or any of its political subdivisions.

Required Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) SFO State Certification(Active Status).
- Work a minimum of 20 hours every 6 months
- Letter of good standing with current employer
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use word processing software required
- Associate Degree
- Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) LEO State Certification (Active Status)
- Currently employed full time as a Law Enforcement Officer
- Experience working large crowd events and traffic control

Due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as an hourly or adjunct employee at Weber State for six months.
This is an events police officer position and will be required to train on events with a full time officer during their first few shifts worked. Applying for this position means you are not interested in working patrol shift work and your duties will be event work.
