A Mechanical Critical Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants. This role requires a strong background in HVAC and other mechanical equipment, along with mission‑critical experience and relevant certifications.
- Technicians must be proficient in the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air handling units.
- The ability to install, maintain, and repair minor plumbing systems, including pumps, valves, and piping, is required.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is necessary for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of BMS platforms such as Niagara Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls is crucial for monitoring and controlling environmental systems.
- Technicians must be able to read and interpret mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Proficiency with CMMS software is needed for tracking and documenting work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED or greater.
- Applicants must have 6+ years of work experience, including 3+ years in direct experience in a critical facility operation such as a data center or hospital.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Applicants identified as Mechanical must have experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, or significant other mechanical experiences.
- Journeyman or HVAC Certification.
- Must possess an EPA 608 Certification.
- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
- Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong (recognition only).

- Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
- See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
