Travel Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift – Newburgh, Indiana

This 13-week travel nursing contract offers the opportunity to work night shifts in a leading cardiac observation unit within a collaborative, teaching hospital environment. • Location: Newburgh, Indiana (47630) – Indiana nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Observation Unit (COU)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed (except holidays/orientation)
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday
• Floating: Required to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units; occasional campus float (rarely mid-shift)
• Scrub Colors: Red top, black bottoms (no competing logos)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780-$1910

• Active Indiana Single State RN License (Registered Nurse)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown or similar specialty experience
• At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment (no new travelers)
• Certifications:
  
  AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (must be submitted with application)
• EPIC charting experience required; CUPID experience highly preferred
• Ability to pass Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation tests
• Must reside outside a 40-mile radius from Newburgh, IN

• Deliver pre- and post-care for Cath Lab/EP procedures and cardiac surgery admissions
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips (cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, cardene, heparin)
• Perform and interpret Telemetry and 12-lead EKGs
• Start IVs, perform radial artery sheath removal, manage TR bands, and arterial lines
• Monitor and trend troponin levels and other cardiac markers
• Care for cardiac admissions, procedure recovery, TAVR/LAAO recoveries, and cardiac observation patients
• Float to other cardiac, stepdown, or telemetry units as needed
• Precept students and new hires in a teaching hospital setting
