Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Scheduling Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless patient experience by scheduling appointments, coordinating physician referrals, and maintaining accurate patient information. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and deliver outstanding service to patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities:- Schedule patient appointments and advanced procedures using the EPIC electronic health record system and online platforms.
- Coordinate with physicians, offices, and departments to ensure accurate and timely scheduling.
- Act as a physician finder expert, connecting new patients to providers and creating a positive onboarding experience.
- Update and maintain patient demographic and insurance information for billing accuracy.
- Handle patient inquiries via phone, verify insurance coverage, and assist with financial questions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years clerical/secretarial experience in healthcare with direct customer contact.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and data entry; experience with EPIC preferred.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and apply critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and attention to detail.
- Light physical demands (up to 20 lbs occasionally).
