American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with recent Epic experience and trauma level II background for a day shift Observation unit assignment.

• Position is on a 32-bed Observation Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Primary patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, CVA/TIA, generalized weakness, and geri-psych placement cases
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5 during days; unit provides strong support with LPNs and CNAs
• 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Requires floating within skillset, which may include nearby campuses; minimum 2-hour notice for cross-campus floating
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend requirement is three weekends out of every six weeks
• Every other holiday is required
• Excellent teamwork environment with LPN and CNA support
• Unit may require precepting students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital
• Navy blue scrubs without competing health system or agency logos are required
• COVID-19 vaccine is not currently required, but this is subject to change
• Three call-ins can result in termination
• Candidates with strong resilience, adaptability, and social skills are preferred

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum two years of Med/Surg experience, including one prior travel assignment
• Trauma level II experience required
• Recent Epic charting experience required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, PIV insertion, and experience with stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix) necessary
• Must not reside within a 40-mile radius from the facility
